We’re thrilled to announce the Co-Chairs for the 56th Annual Festival of the Arts, Kristen Torkelson and John Semtner!
Kristen began volunteering at Arts Council OKC in 2008 at the encouragement of her former boss, Steve Mason. She quickly fell in love with the environment and never looked back!
You could say John was born into the Festival of the Arts, as he’s been involved with Arts Council OKC his entire life. His mother Gayle served as Festival Co-Chair in 1999, while his father Barney held the role in 2002.
The pair says Festival belongs in the month of April and they are honored to be leading the charge as the event returns to spring. They say Festival of the Arts is a staple of downtown Oklahoma City and they are ready to continue the long history of volunteers giving back to the arts and bringing the community together. Thank you to Kristen and John for your hard work putting this year’s Festival together!
